Salt and Despair

Salt and Despair

Driftwood on the ocean
Broken pieces of a voyage gone wrong.

Seaweed churning
And salt water burning
With not a soul to be seen.

Tattered canvas on a busted post
Shattered heart riding the crest of the waves.

And here we go again,
Wearing out the oars,
Burning in the heat,
Eating all the stores.
We bail as if life depends
On staying dry and afloat,
When all we really know
Is that there is no hope.

Shipwrecked off the shores of Heartless Isle…

Our life is stolen like a pirate’s guile…

We go down or we drown, it matters not…

To live without a healthy heart, we haven’t got a shot.
