Pin Me Down
Pin Me Down
I feel like I’ve died,
And I’m just wearing my skin around
And peering out from the inside.
But still you stick me with the knife,
Blinded by pride you
Play pin-the-lie-on-my-heart,
And you always win and I
Always lose.
Say what you mean and
Mean what you say,
In spite of the passion you’ve
Shared with me
The vitriol and spite dripped
From off your lips
Whenever you decided now to
Look my way.
Unpeeled, I’m unmanned,
Like a razor to the flesh that
Has been dragged over the hot sand.
Blinded by pride,
You stick it to me again,
You can’t remember how you used to feel for me,
So you cannot ever even heal.
Instead,
You use your newfound hate for me
To try to get your blood to congeal,
So that the pain will go away…
So you pin me down and go for the heart
Once again.
