The Me Song Poem



Tired of being afraid here, I took my fear on the road.
The truth is, I am the only truth I know.
I look within myself and see
All the world’s possibilities
And I laugh.

Tired of feeling the way I felt, I made a decision
Threw a dart to make a choice that is better than indecision
Now instead of sitting home and feeling so abused
By you
Now I sit in a different home, alone but glad
We’re through.

I have my whole
Life ahead of me,
I removed myself from the equation
It was a sad sad situation
But when I left you, I left me too
Now I am finding who I am…

…and I might be Sam, I might be Dave
I might be a shirtless dude at a rave
But whoever that I am, that’s who I am.
I might be Steve, I might be Joe,
But there is one thing I wish you could know
It’s better being me, alone in tears
Yeah, it’s better being me now that you’re not here
