Stupify

Stupify

Stupify my eyeballs,
Pour my retinas into molten hot envy
Amidst a sea of regret and salty sorrow.
Mourn my abyss, be the
Father and the Mother of my undying death,
And take the hand proffered and stain the slain
With the very jealousy that raised the man of hate.
Such is the life that lives for itself,
The one that never learns,
That teaches the learned to capitulate
And makes the masses into asses
That roam the shores of a barren waste.
Such is life without You,
Such is me when I am no longer the man
That You breathed me to be.
Such is
My death
Here that I live
When I live only for me.

One of those poems where I feel something, and I put pen to paper and start writing, having no plans beyond the first phrase. Halfway through, it takes such shape that I finally understand what my emotions are saying through my pen, and I know both the subject and the ending of the poem. Poetry is so cool.

Stupify = make dull or stupid; to muddle with drunkenness or infatuation; to make senseless or dizzy, like by a blow to the head; to blunt perception and understanding, to deprive of sense and reason.

Proffered = offered for acceptance; proposed to give; offered prior to formal negotiations.

Capitulate = surrender under agreed terms; end all resistance (because of loss of hope).

A Mouthful Of Funny

A Mouthful Of Funny

I threw my ass into it,
Followed by my camel and a couple of sheep,
Then I threw my back out
And backed out of the corner my
Mouth had painted me into.

Simple, and amusing, yet I really love how it came together. Each line finds new meaning in the next.

Love-Light Never Dies

Love-Light Never Dies

I caught you
Out of the coroner of my eye,
Cold and lifeless
And sexy as hell.
Your toe tag says your name
And that linen sheet makes you fair game,
Dance with me my love
Dance until we fall down lame
On the cold cement floor,
Under the sterile lights.
Never fear, all is not lost,
Rage against the dying of the breast
And keep the beat until you cannot feel your legs;
While you are with me,
I live through you and you through me.
Off the gurney and across the floor,
Past the chimney and on for more,
I’ll rub you good and return to you your colour,
And you will hold me tight and be my white-draped lover.
Here in the basement where dreams are supposed to die
Is where my heart is unstopped by the love-light
In your once-sewn-shut eyes.

I am quite proud of this poem. It came to me in a flash, and I wrote it all in under 5 minutes. Very profound and deep imagery herein.

Process This!

Process This!

Gravelly the motion,
Openly searching for a potion,
Irritable and anxious,
Neath all wisdom is the subconscious
Guarding of the heart-lines.

Telling the tales that all forgot but me,
Harrowing the adventures of what is foreseen,
Rummaging through the glove-box of experience
Only to make yourself frightfully delirious,
Under the attitude is subservience to none,
Grinning when the cat is upon your tongue,
Hand the roadmap of your mind to the wind.

Testify of love, and loss, and death,
Heave yourself overboard to escape from fret,
Emptiness of thought with your empty self.

Promise the world but know you can’t pay,
Raise the banner but turn to escape the sun’s rays,
Occupy yourself until the night returns,
Copious amounts of sanity, it burns,
Egress of the emotional, grazing on the unknown,
Satisfy the longings but leave my heart alone,
Satisfy the outer urges but never fix your home.

Going through the process,
Life she is the hostess
Of the party grandiose.
When all seems lost,
Get lost within yourself,
And don’t come out until you know who you are;
It’s all part of
Going through the process.

The process hurts,
The process burns,
It leaves you feeling empty
And longing for an urn.
The process is not fun,
It seems as if it’s never done,
But the process must complete
So for now let your heart weep.

Going through the process
To make your life complete,
Learning to love yourself
It’s the hardest love to keep.

It's My Life

It’s My Life

It’s a marvellous day to be alive,
Great day, great I say,
I move through life and nowhere I stay,
I travel in the most groovy way.

Today, yesterday,
The future is bright
That’s what I say.
Accept no hate,
Don’t fight your fate,
On time in all
I’m never late.
Kickin’ my life into overdrive,
Gotta do more than just survive,
I’m more than here,
I’m alive.

Respecting the life I’m living,
Here to stay, outta my way,
I’m all about the giving
And in that there ain’t no kidding.
I’ve got not time for sliding n’ slipping,
Through these fields I’m childhood skipping.

Today, yesterday,
The future is bright
That’s what I say.
Accept no hate
Don’t fight your fate,
On time in all
I’m never late.
Kickin’ my life into overdrive,
Gotta do more than just survive,
I’m more than here,
I’m alive.

Learning to love in all I do,
A heart to give, a life to live,
Every good word spoken is relative
And comes back to you in time.

Kickin’ my life into a passing gear,
Running on love I bypass fear,
Fuelled and ready, my chassis is steady,
The rush of my life is strong and heady.
I gotta do more while I’m alive,
More than just survive.

I’m fine, like china,
The way I love gives me angina,
It hurts to be good, but it is worth
A lot, spreading cheer and mirth.

Today, yesterday,
The future is bright
That’s what I say.
Accept no hate,
Don’t fight your fate,
On time in all
I’m never late.
Kickin’ my life into overdrive,
Gotta do more than just survive,
I’m more than here,
I’m alive.
I’m more than here…
I’m alive.
