Stupify
Stupify
Stupify my eyeballs,
Pour my retinas into molten hot envy
Amidst a sea of regret and salty sorrow.
Mourn my abyss, be the
Father and the Mother of my undying death,
And take the hand proffered and stain the slain
With the very jealousy that raised the man of hate.
Such is the life that lives for itself,
The one that never learns,
That teaches the learned to capitulate
And makes the masses into asses
That roam the shores of a barren waste.
Such is life without You,
Such is me when I am no longer the man
That You breathed me to be.
Such is
My death
Here that I live
When I live only for me.

One of those poems where I feel something, and I put pen to paper and start writing, having no plans beyond the first phrase. Halfway through, it takes such shape that I finally understand what my emotions are saying through my pen, and I know both the subject and the ending of the poem. Poetry is so cool.
Stupify = make dull or stupid; to muddle with drunkenness or infatuation; to make senseless or dizzy, like by a blow to the head; to blunt perception and understanding, to deprive of sense and reason.
Proffered = offered for acceptance; proposed to give; offered prior to formal negotiations.
Capitulate = surrender under agreed terms; end all resistance (because of loss of hope).
